Thorpe-le-Soken Parish Council is empowered under Section 137 of the Local Government Act 1972 to incur expenditure which in the opinion of the Council is in the interests of the Parish, or any part of it, or is in the interest or all or some of its inhabitants. Grants and Donations may be available for established voluntary or community groups, as well as new or informal groups of parishioners who may apply by the end of October for the consideration of an award in the following financial year. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a casual vacancy exists in the Office of Parish Councillor for the Parish of Thorpe Le Soken
An election will be held if, within 14 days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays) after the date of this notice, a request for an election to fill the vacancy is made to the Returning Officer at the Town Hall, Station Road, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex CO15 1SE by TEN electors for the electoral area.
If no such request is received within the time indicated, the vacancy will be filled by co-option.

Thorpe Le Soken Parish Council has a vacancy for a Parish Councillor and is inviting expressions of interest for the role.
You need to be willing to give up some of your time. How much depends on you and your commitment to work for your community without being paid.
The Parish Council meets once a month, usually on the second Monday of the month, meetings normally last around 1.5 hours.
You must be 18 or over, an elector and have been a resident or worked within 3 miles of the Parish for the last year.
If you would like to be considered, please contact the Parish Clerk via email clerk@thorpeparishcouncil.org.uk by midday on Monday 9th June. Interested parties should come to the Parish council meeting being held in the Baptist Church on Monday 9th June at 7.00pm wherein the Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option.
